The Disability Research Institute

The Disability Research Institute (DRI) is funded through a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Social Security Administration (opens in new window), Office of Disability and Income Security Programs (opens in new window), and the College of Applied Life Studies (opens in new window) at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) (opens in new window). The DRI works with teams across the nation to develop high-quality research that directly informs disability policy decision-makers in new and innovative ways.

The central purpose of the DRI is to conduct research and evaluations, disseminate information on disability topics and inform policymakers and the public in understanding policies as they relate to people with disabilities and programs under the Social Security Act.
