RIC Spine and Sports Rehabilitation Center
Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a triathlete, suffering from a bad back or recovering from a specific injury—anyone who has musculoskeletal pain knows how impaired function can keep you from doing the things you want and need to do. The physicians and therapists at RIC Spine & Sports Rehabilitation Centers are specialists in treating sports injuries, spinal conditions and other orthopaedic issues that affect the intricate system of bones, muscles and connective tissues that make up the musculoskeletal system. They’ll work with you, as a team, to help you reach your goals—whether that’s picking up your child or running a marathon. We offer an integrated approach to rehabilitation, including physician services, on-site diagnostics and specially trained therapists working together in a spacious, vibrant outpatient setting.
We Treat You - Not Your Injury
You may not realize just how interconnected your body truly is. Rehabilitation specialists refer to this as the "kinetic chain." Because of cause-and-effect relationships throughout the body’s intricate network of muscles, bones and connective tissues, the site of the pain might not be where the central problem is located. So, for instance, you might feel pain in your knee because of a problem in your hip. This is why our spine and sports medicine experts use a whole-body approach to diagnosing and treating orthopaedic problems. Care is focused on non-operative solutions to get you back in the game or back to work, safely and without reinjury.
Conditions treated at SSRC include all kinds of back problems (herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, unspecified pain); neck, ankle/foot, shoulder and knee pain; all types of sports injuries; and some workplace injuries. Our staff also includes specialists in post-breast-cancer rehabilitation, women’s health rehabilitation (for incontinence or pelvic pain), temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) and industrial medicine.
Dedicated Rehabilitation Physicians
While many providers offer basic therapies for orthopaedic problems, very few have physiatrists — physicians who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation — onsite, collaborating with therapists throughout each client’s care. At SSRC, our staff of seven board-certified physiatrists provides full diagnostic services, including onsite X-rays, fluoroscopically guided peripheral joint and spinal injections, musculoskeletal ultrasounds, and electrodiagnostics (EMGs). Also available are full chiropractic evaluation and treatments, as well as physical and occupational therapy. Since all clinicians are on-site, they work closely with the rest of the team, oversee your rehabilitation program, provide regular rechecks and modify your plan of care as appropriate.
Several of our experts even provide services to professional athletes from organizations including the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA).
You've got an active life, we'll help you keep it that way
