Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services
Treatment at The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's (RIC) pulmonary rehabilitation program begins with a comprehensive and personalized assessment. This is followed by treatment designed to educate patients, increase breathing capacity, improve ability to perform daily activities, integrate medication management and decrease anxiety, panic and stress.
This program is provided through our inpatient, outpatient and day rehabilitation locations for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, chronic asthma, sarcoidosis, pre- and post-lung transplant,chronic lung disease and lung cancer.
This program adheres to the guidelines developed by the American Thoracic Society of the American Lung Society (opens in new window). Services provided at RIC's Main Campus, located at 345 E. Superior Street, in Chicago, maintain a strong relationship with pulmonary specialists at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (opens in new window).
Other supportive resources include RIC's Breath of Life Support Group and the Helen M. Galvin Center for Health & Fitness.
