Where is the Women with Disabilities Center located?

The Women with Disabilities Center is located at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), 345 E. Superior Street, Chicago, Illinois 60611 (1st Floor Lobby, adjacent to the LIFE Center).       

Who can be seen at the RIC Women’s Clinic?

Women with physical disabilities who are referred by a RIC attending physician.

How do I get a referral from a RIC attending physician to be seen in the Women’s Clinic?

Call RIC scheduling at 312-238-6100 and ask for the next available appointment to see a RIC physician for a consultation.

I would like to join the Women with Disabilities Center’s support group.  When does it meet and whom do I contact to get started?

The Women with Disabilities support group meets every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Contact Carrie Kaufman, Peer Support Coordinator at Access Living. 312-640-2100. TTY 312-640-2102.

What is the age requirement to participate in the M&M Role Model Program?  

The minimum age requirement to be a Mentor is twenty-one years old. The age range to be a Mentee is 13 to 19 years old.

How often does the Women with Disabilities Center host educational seminars and on how long do they last?  

The Women with Disabilities Center hosts two free educational seminars per year. The seminars are held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
