FAQs

How do I join the Associate Board?

The Associate Board is always looking for new members that are passionate about supporting the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's vision and mission.

New members participate first as "potential members" for up to a year while they actively participate in planning fundraising events and attend meetings. At the end of this period an individual has the opportunity to become a full member of the board.

The Associate Board welcomes those interested in joining the board to attend one of its quarterly meetings or many events to learn more about the group.

For additional information, please contact Bridget Vrba at 312-238-1252 or bvrba@ric.org.

Associate Board Companions (ABCs) are a special group of board volunteers who work with children on the Pediatrics and Adolescent unit.

A vital key to having a successful volunteer experience is maintaining a consistent and dependable schedule. Associate Board members should plan on a three-hour volunteer commitment each month.

Volunteers must participate in a general orientation providing information on RIC and volunteering. Training for assignments is provided by volunteer resources staff, a supervisor and/or a trained volunteer.

Contact the Associate Board's Volunteer Chair, Julie Boniecki (e-mail), to get started volunteering.
