VA Secretary Peake Visits RIC
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), ranked the nation’s “#1 Rehabilitation Hospital in America”[1], today announced that Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Lt. Gen. James Peake (Ret.), MD, toured RIC to learn about its leading rehabilitation medicine models and innovative research that can continue to benefit service members with severe injuries such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), estimated to affect more than 320,000 service members who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan.

RIC Featured in Worldwide Media Story about Vietnamese Boy
RIC’s innovative pediatric care was featured in the worldwide media coverage of a two-year-old male patient from Vietnam, Phung Thien Nhan, who was left in the jungle to die and, subsequently, was mauled by wild animals before monks saved him and nursed him back to health.

The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the country[1], today announced two significant research grants awarded to the Brain Injury Medicine and Rehabilitation Program to fuel cutting-edge research awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Education’s National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR).

RIC Ranked “#1 Rehabilitation Hospital in America” by U.S. News & World Report for the 18th Consecutive Year
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), the leading physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital in the country, today announced it has been ranked the “#1 rehabilitation hospital in America” for the 18th consecutive year. The rankings are based on a survey of board-certified physiatrists (physicians who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation) as reported in the July 28th“Best Hospitals” issue of U.S. News & World Report.
